PetSmart Charities Donates $175,000 to Riley Children’s Hospital
Riley Children’s Hospital has recently announced that it has received a $175,000 grant from PetSmart Charities to expand pet therapy programs at the hospital.
The $175,000 grant will allow the hospital to recruit additional therapy dog teams as well as hire a pet therapy coordinator. The hospital currently only has 12 therapy dogs available.
“A lot of these families are here for a long time and in some cases they’re missing their animals at home. Being able to bring a pet into a patient’s room while they’re going through such a stressful time can really provide the whole family comfort and ease anxiety. Because of this generous gift from PetSmart Charities, Riley’s fleet of four-legged friends can bring even more smiles to kids.”
