PetSmart Charities has announced that it has committed $1 million to support organizations working to help pets and their owners affected by Hurricane Michael. This $1 million commitment follows PetSmart Charities’ commitment to support Hurricane Florence relief efforts made just last month.
Disaster relief organizations interested in applying for a grant may do so here starting October 12. Grant applications are open to national and local designated response agencies serving pets including nonprofit and municipal animal shelters, rescues, food banks, and veterinary clinics.
“The catastrophic damage in the southeastern U.S. from Hurricane Michael is immense and we know relief agencies on the ground need supplies to feed, house and provide veterinary care to pets. With the support of our generous donors, it’s our hope that this funding from PetSmart Charities will help provide essential care to pet families and displaced pets in the areas impacted by the storm.”
