Purina Offering Funding to Innovative Startups
Purina has announced that it is seeking pet care startups to mentor as part of the company’s Pet Care Innovation Prize.
The Pet Care Innovation Prize recognizes young startups with a bent toward innovative approaches to pet care. As many as five selected startups will be eligible to receive $10,000 in funding and will be able to participate in an accelerator program later this year. Finalists will pitch their concept at Global Pet Expo 2019 where the grand prize winner will be selected. The grand prize winner will receive an additional $10,000 and a chance to partner with Purina on a project.
“We feel a responsibility at Purina to share some of our vast resources and expertise with entrepreneurs who share our passion for pets and commitment to innovation. If the past two years have shown us anything, it’s that the pet care startup community is full of creative, passionate people with incredible ideas to help improve the lives of pets and their owners. We look forward to hitting the road this summer to learn about more startups that are hoping to make an impact on the industry and how we could support their efforts.”
— Blair Morgan, Vice President, Innovation, Purina
