PetFoodIndustry.com reports that Purina contributed over $31 million to over 650 organizations last year to support pet-related causes.
Among the projects funded by Purina’s contributions are:
- The opening of the St. Louis Children’s Hospital’s Purina Family Pet Center, a pet-friendly medical center for children
- The development of the third Purina Pet Haven, a place where victims of domestic violence can safely play with their pets, at the New York-based Urban Resource Institute
- The construction of Friends of the Animal Shelter’s “catio,” a venue where shelter cats and potential adopters can get to know each other prior to adoption.
“Whether it’s helping children reunite with their pets in hospitals, keeping victims of domestic violence and their pets together during times of crisis, or bringing food to pets displaced by natural disasters, we at Purina are dedicated to bettering the lives of pets and the people who love them in communities across the country.”
