Pets can be just as picky about climate control as their owners. For many exotic pets, a suitable temperature is more than a minor matter of preference, it can be a matter of life and death. Until recently, keeping your pets thermally safe and comfortable required constant monitoring of their environment and regular adjustment of heaters, lamps, and chillers. However, a new device from Sen.se is helping to simplify the process of keeping your pets comfy and cozy.
ThermoPeanut, a remote smart sensor, is designed to keep track of the temperature of your pet’s habitat from virtually anywhere. The sensor is small enough to be placed in almost any location your pet might reside. Once placed, the ThermoPeanut transmits temperature data to a companion app. Custom alerts can be set to let you know if a habitat is beginning to get too hot or too cold for your pet. The ThermoPeanut app also meshes with IFTTT, Nest, and other third party services to allow you to automatically adjust thermostats, lamps, and more to keep your pets in their comfort zones.
