Last week, The Pet Leadership Council Co-hosted Pet Night on Capitol Hill along with the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI). More than a dozen members of Congress along with congressional staffers and the pet care community packed the room to celebrate the importance of responsible pet ownership in America and to learn about the scientific evidence that shows how pet ownership and pet-friendly policies lead to improved health and well-being for both people and animals. We’d like to thank everyone who made it out as well as all the Pet Night sponsors and we look forward to continuing to bring the power of pets to Capitol Hill for a healthier, more pet-friendly society.
Separate from Pet Night, this was also the first year we brought a unified group to Washington to speak with our legislators as a collective voice on behalf of pets and those who serve and support them. We’re proud to say we had over 100 scheduled Hill visits as part of our ‘legislative fly-in’ in conjunction with the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC). Thank you all who participated this year.
Keep up the good work and enjoy this week’s articles.
